My most recent encounter on June 9th, 2024 from a customer who paid me from their Tymebank App to my FNB bank account shows a duration of less than 30 minutes when the money reflected in my FNB account.
On asking the customer further questions about why the fund came on time, she told me she selected the instant payment option on her Tymebank App.
Armed with this information and combing with my previous experiences with various Tymebank users who happened to be my customers, this guideline is written to inform, help, and empower you with well-accurate information on how long it takes to receive money from Tymebank to FNB.
Tymebank, the most pronounced and popular foremost digital banking platform in South Africa currently has more than 8.5 million customer base while FNB currently has 11.49 million customer base.
Their seemingly strong digital banking platform helped harness a world-class financial transaction facilitation that is both quick and secure.
A general breakdown of the costs inherent when you send an EFT payment from Tymebank to FNB, including the timeframe for the funds to reflect in the latter is fully explained in this piece.
Please understand that the tranquility and propensity of achieving a speedy and faster transfer time from Tymebank to FNB is anchored on enacting the instant payment option which comes at a cost of approximately R7.50!!

Transfer Money From Tymebank to FNB: How Long Does It Take
I will not want to be biased with the right answer because it is in two folds; it is based on whether you make a normal transfer or you made an instant payment.
Let us find out in the piece below:
1. Immediate Payment Option
While this is the best option, please know that it is not free, there is a cost implication, however, it is a very low fee of around R7.50.
With that sorted, the instant /immediate EFT payment option on your Tymebank App when activated takes less than 30 minutes for the fund to reflect in FNB bank account.
My analogy of fact is based on no interference or delay from third parties or the recipient banking institution, I also take into consideration that there are no technical or internet glitches.
If you have ever used the Tymebank platform, you will agree with me that everything is being done on their World class App, there is no physical ATM or an online platform. So I urge you to get the App to enjoy this bank.
In addition, it does not matter whether it was done on Saturdays, Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, or Fridays, in as much as you chose the immediate pay and clear options, it takes less than 5 minutes to reflect in the Capitec account.

2. Normal Tymebank Payment To FNB
Without being ostentatious, all intra-transactional money payments from Tymebank to FNB take approximately 1-2 days for clearance when sent using normal mode.
However, in the worst case scenario, it may exceed the stipulated 2 days and spill over to 3 days if it is done on weekends.

For Tymebank to FNB, there is a catch here and I will explain:
- Instant payment option
Starting from mid-Friday afternoon, Saturday, or Sunday, if you choose the immediate or instant option, then the fund from Tymebank will appear in FNB in approximately 30 mins.
This option works true for weekends and holidays!!
- Normal payment option
This option is not going to be in your best interest because if you enact a money transfer or EFT payment on weekends or during the holidays without the instant payment option, it will take between 2-3 days for the fund to show in FNB and after the holiday is over respectively.
