The environs and people of Manara promenade, Beirut, in June 2009 were thrown into everlasting mourning when a cliff jump experience went sour and resulted in an unprecedented face split diving accident that had never happened before.

The elder brother, an expert in cliff jumping, which was a result of years of training did not endorse that his young brother should try it, but unfortunately, the young enthusiastic young man made a decision that decimated his face totally and which eventually led to his death.

The elder brother displayed an act of care and concern on seeing his younger brother in such a life-threatening situation, unlike Melly who allegedly killed his two closest friends. How The Face Split Diving Accident Happened
Yes, it was a simple mistake; an honest simple mistake that eventually led to his death. As residents of Beirut, the two lovely brothers went on a sea diving activity which I believe is not the first time.
The elder brother, being a good diver with years of experience and armed with the skills of diving went first, he successfully dived into the sea from over 40 feet. He did this because he was standing on a big rock, that was 40 feet above sea level.
The elated younger brother thought he could do the same thing, he stepped forward and attempted to dive likewise.
Unfortunately, he slipped a little bit and hit the hard rocky surface before falling into the sea; this accident, or rather incident led to his instant death as the video shows below.

What happened after the face split accident in 2009
The authorities in the area should be commended for swift medical attention, however, the bulk of the commendation goes to the elder brother who, upon realizing that the face of his younger brother had been split into two gave him first aid by carrying him
At the hospital, medical teams, and nurses battled so much to save and repair the broken face, but all their efforts were not successful.
This was because the degree of the split face diving accident is too much and the young innocent boy has lost so much blood.
At the end of the day, the young boy dies because the wound is a first-degree wound which leads to his death.
While this real-life incident is painful, all that can be said is that the memories of this accident should be wiped off the face of the family, his elder brother, and his loved ones.

Records do not lie, just the same way pens do not lie. If you are a tourist, you can visit the hospital at the Manara promenade, Beirut, and make inquiries.
The hospital still exists today, though most medical staff has gone or retired but the hospital records show the incidence was reported there.
On further investigation, even hospital records then released a statement saying the young boy attempted suicide, however, the use of the diving expedition was the way the young boy took his life.
While some movies or pranks can be staged, a vivid look at the video tells you that this is real, original, and cannot be fake.

I watched it and I must admit that it caused traumatic issues to me. At times, I dream of it and the memory lingered in me for quite some days.
Clearly, this shows that this is traumatic in all ramifications; whether you believe the authenticity of the video or not, the trauma this poses to the family stands too much.
One thing we should all learn is that there are some things in life that you must be careful about. If you want to be a cliff jumper, then go for adequate training before attempting such.
